Job Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be involved in all elements of the business from design for manufacture, to cost estimation and control, to planning, scheduling and executing processes for manufacture including continuous improvement.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Liaising with the Engineering Department and Engineering BOM controller providing production related information to ensure the efficient release of production ready parts that are of a design sympathetic to production and targeted item costs

Creating and maintaining finished goods master data and Bill of Manufacture routings within the companies ERP system ensuring product and system accuracy

Generating and aligning manufacturing order supply to meet our customer requirements with associated ongoing feedback and continued interaction with Purchasing to meet agreed targets

Providing accurate data and timely communication to internal customers on any production shortages or delays that could impact the project

You should have a relevant qualification of NVQ4 or above with experience of working in a similar role in an automotive engineering environment, you will need to be flexible enough to adapt to changes in scheduling, able to think on the fly, and able to handle high-stress decision-making scenarios.

You should also have a good awareness of manufacturing and production processes, ideally including Fabrication, CNC machining and carbon composite pre-preg laminating. Post process finishing and Inspection awareness is also beneficial.

In addition, experience of Continuous Improvement, lean manufacturing and six sigma would be an advantage.
