RML Group Appoints Paul Dickinson as new COO to Drive Growth Plan

Paul, has held a variety of senior management roles at leading automotive manufacturers including Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Bentley Motors where he was Chief Commercial Officer for Mulliner, the oldest coachbuilder in the world and the centre of Bentley’s bespoke personal commissioning business. He was latterly global finance director for Group Lotus.

His appointment coincides with the announcement of major new investment in the RML Group business and the restructuring of the Group’s main engineering teams into four new divisions.

“I’m joining RML Group at a tremendously exciting time, as the business moves into a new era,” said Dickinson. “RML has a global reputation for innovative ICE and EV drive trains, bespoke vehicle manufacture, racing success and more. I’m thrilled to be joining this industry-leading team.”

There are four separate divisions within the new-look RML Group, each one staffed by dedicated engineering and development teams: Power; Engineering; Motorsport; and Bespoke, the personal commissions division.

This new structure recognises the unique needs of customers in different sectors. It now provides clients with category specific products and services.

Michael Mallock, RML Group CEO, said: “Paul’s arrival is key part of our strategic growth as our industry rapidly expands into electrification and other new technologies while remaining rooted in traditional engineering excellence.

“Our new structure and investment will allow us to maximise the capabilities of the highly skilled workforce here at Wellingborough and accelerate the delivery of customer projects as well as invest in new skills and technologies,” he added.

RML Group was founded in 1984 by Michael Mallock’s father, Ray, a successful single-seater and sportscar racer. Under his leadership the business specialised in championship-winning motorsport and precision automotive engineering.

Today, RML Group has expanded to meet the diverse needs of the automotive industry. From short-run manufacturing projects to continuation cars, from innovative mould-breaking racing cars to cutting-edge ultra-performance battery packs, the company has never strayed from its founding principle of engineering excellence.
