When it was launched, Aston Martin’s Vulcan was the fastest, most extreme car they’d ever made. It was conceived as a motorsport-inspired, track-only supercar. But one owner wanted his Vulcan to be road legal and usable.
With Aston Martin’s full support and endorsement, we undertook the challenge of making the Vulcan comply with the intricate legal requirements for road use while preserving its remarkable performance and uncompromising nature.
With the Vulcan’s minimal ground clearance, no cooling system for low-speed road use, no dipped-beam headlights, indicators or windscreen washers, we had a very long job list.
Adam Airey, our Principal Chassis Engineer, says: “This unique Vulcan is now a race car that can be enjoyed on the road, yet it still has the rawness its owner wanted to keep. While it has gone through complex changes, at its core it is still a Vulcan and we’re very proud of that achievement”.
