The RML Short Wheelbase is off to the U.S

Taking a leaf out of Led Zeppelin’s song book, we’re taking our ‘chances on a big jet-plane’ and ‘Goin’ to California’ with the all-new RML Short Wheelbase. To be precise, RML’s CEO Michael Mallock is introducing Car Zero, RML’s prototype SWB, to prospective owners on the US West Coast this month, coinciding with Monterey Car Week and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

North America will be an important market for the Short Wheelbase, and it was recently given a significant boost after winning US publication Robb Report’s coveted Best of the Best award for Best Tribute Vehicle, 2022.

After the RML team responsible for developing the car bade it a temporary farewell from its Wellingborough HQ, Car Zero was shipped overland to Luxembourg, where it was loaded onto a Boeing 747F cargo plane, next stop Los Angeles, California.

“I’m looking forward to meeting our prospective owners in the US at a time when they’ll be enjoying one of the world’s most high-profile car events,” said Michael Mallock. “The Short Wheelbase has started to gain real sales traction in the States, so it’ll be great for people to see the car under California skies and imagine what it’ll be like driving it down the Pacific Coast Highway – which it’s made for!”

RML Short Wheelbase production is now underway, with deliveries of the first cars starting very soon.
